My teaching experience dates back to college where I tutored other university students in Ear Training/Sight Singing and Music Theory.  I began teaching private lessons about 7 years ago in Florida while I was pursuing my degree in Music Education.  I have maintained a voice and piano student consisting of 50 students.  From a young age I have always had an interest in teaching and have developed and nurtured the skills necessary to be a successful teacher for close to 15 years.  I love seeing my students overcome difficulties in their learning and enjoy watching them grow as musicians and people. I am a positive, energetic instructor and performer who loves working with students of all ages and backgrounds. I completed my bachelor's in music performance at the University of Wyoming in 2014, and have just completed my first semester as a Master's student in Jazz Studies at the University of Northern Colorado. I have taught mostly for friends in the past. I started playing in early age, but didn't start teaching until some high school friends wanted to learn a few things. I really enjoyed helping them break down a problem, I always had a very systems-approach. Recently, I had a female student that was learning pieces for her school's talent show. I helped her understand the underlying technique issues and revisited some basics concerning rhythm and fingering, and she gave me a very positive review for my style. Read More
