Instruments: Piano

When I have a beginning student, I provide for them a basic lesson book that includes fun songs and introduction to theory. Each week I go over a song or two with the student and have them play for me the song or songs for their next week's lesson. If the student performs the piece well, they are rewarded with a sticker and can move on. For my more advanced students, I ask them what kind of music they are interested in and they play for me songs from their favorite movie or artist. Read More

Instruments: Piano Organ Synthesizer Keyboard

I've always had incisive experiences from leading small combos, as learning situations. As arranger working with musicians it's a laboratory to knowing the right groove to create blues, rock or jazz. I extend my years of professional knowledge playing piano complimenting a players' harmonic voicings, rhythmic styles informing band members how to adhere to arrangements for weddings, conventions, clubs, restaurants, wine tastings and a variety of larger venues. I enjoy teaching the youngest less experienced piano enthusiast, especially if there's specific goals or they know of inspirational music or musicians they'd like to emulate. Read More

Instruments: Piano Clarinet

I began teaching as early as 2003, while in high school on clarinet. I continued to teach during college as a voice coach, and have been teaching piano, music theory and music composition to this date. I have worked with both children and adults, in classrooms and one on one. One of the things that distinguishes me from other teachers is how I tailor my program for each student, because everyone learns differently and has different strengths and talents. Read More

Instruments: Piano Guitar Violin Saxophone Bass Guitar Organ Acoustic Guitar

First of all, I would ask the student if music would be his/her career or just a hobby. If it is to be his/her career, my approach would be more theoretical. But if it would be just a hobby like mine, I would encourage the student to learn by ear supplemented with a little theory to be able to learn a musical piece or song in the shortest time possible. Instruments: Piano Guitar Bass Guitar

I am looking first at what the students know about music and what they can put into practice. Then according to their level i managed to teach them the 14 Chords on guitar in order to move forward in their ability skills. Then I will propose them to learn any songs of their choice and teach them the manner to play it ; arpeggio, Rythmic, solos. I can teach the students some basic of music theory for them to be able to read music and apply it on their instrument. Read More

I am passionate about helping students at any level improve their skills. I have Bachelors and Masters degrees in Violin Performance and have played all over the world. For 10 years I was concertmaster of the Fresno Philharmonic and have performed as soloist and concertmaster of the Heidelberg Chamber Orchestra touring throughout Europe, Canada and the United States. I moved to the Los Angeles area in 1996 and have been a member for over 20 years of the first violin section of the Los Angeles Opera Orchestra with Placido Domingo as the Artistic Director. Instruments: Piano Voice Music Keyboard

If you play more than one instrument, how did you decide to start playing the second? (Or 3rd, 4th, 5th, etc)!
I started with my voice — it was always my first and most natural instrument. But as I dove deeper into music, I realized I wanted a tool that could help me compose, arrange, and understand music on a deeper level. That’s when I picked up the piano. The piano opened up a whole new world for me — it’s like having an entire orchestra under your fingertips. It’s incredibly versatile for songwriting, teaching, and performing. Learning piano also helped me improve my vocal skills by giving me a better sense of harmony and theory. Over time, I’ve enjoyed exploring other instruments too, always curious and excited to discover new ways to express myself musically. For me, each instrument adds a new layer to my creativity and connection with music.

Does music run in your family? Tell us a little about your musical family members.
Music has always been a cherished part of my family’s life. While most of my family members work as social workers and nurses, our home was always filled with singing and records playing — creating a vibrant, musical atmosphere growing up. My grandfather was especially passionate about classical music, and his love for it even influenced my first name. His deep appreciation for timeless music left a lasting impression on me and helped spark my own journey into the world of music. Even though music wasn’t everyone’s profession, it was always a joyful and natural part of our family gatherings and everyday life.

When did you decide to become a professional musician? Was it a gradual decision or was there a defining moment for you?
Music has always been a huge part of my life — I was singing and performing from the time I could walk. But deciding to make it my career was a mix of both a gradual realization and a few defining moments that made everything click. Growing up, performing on stage always felt natural to me. But it wasn’t until I started writing my own songs and seeing how they connected with people that I knew this was more than just a hobby — it was what I was meant to do. Later, studying at Berklee College of Music solidified that decision. Being surrounded by so many passionate, talented musicians made me realize that this was the world I belonged in. There wasn’t just one “lightbulb” moment — it was a series of experiences, from my first live shows to my first original release, that confirmed it for me. Over time, music stopped being something I did — it became who I am.
