I don't believe in a one size fits all mentality for music education, I've often seen this approach derail students from enjoying the process and eventually terminating their relationship with music overall. I am passionate about the guitar. It is a totally unique instrument. In fact, it is the only instrument that matches the piano in range and one of the only instruments where the exact same note and pitch can be found on the same instrument. I have taught my nieces and nephews how to play the guitar. I have also taught friends and band-mates how to play the instrument and look forward to sharing my love for the instrument with others. I understand not everyone progresses at the same speed. That being said, nothing is more rewarding than seeing one of my students develop a passion for music! Therefore, it's important that each student progresses at his or her own pace. I encourage this by setting realistic goals for my students at each lesson. Acknowledging accomplishments helps fuel a students desire to progress, and makes students eager to learn more. I love music and I love teaching. I went to college to study Music and Theatre. After school, I toured the US and parts of the world for nine years in the vocal group Chapter 6. We were the youngest group ever to win the National Harmony Sweepstakes competition and the only group to ever win it and the International Championship of Collegiate A cappella.
