In the summer of 2014, I moved to Boston, released a solo album, and formed GEPH with fellow Stickist John Tyler Kent and drummer Josh Merhar, where the three of us immediately began making waves, releasing a debut album in March of 2016. Riding the success of our first album, GEPH managed to fundraise nearly $10,000 to record and mix our upcoming album. This year, we've gone on a big regional tour with Philly based friends In The Presence of Wolves (opened for acts like Alice in Chains, Ghost and Stone Temple Pilots), released our album to widespread acclaim in July of 2018, and have been flown across the country to perform in progressive rock festivals. For beginning students, I use the Hal Leonard Basic or Kids Guitar Method because it is such a good introduction to the instrument. For bass and ukulele I also use the beginner Hal Leonard Method books. For more advanced students, I first get a sense for what they want to learn and where they want to go, by asking them some questions about their previous education, what songs they like to listen to, and any problems with practicing or grasping the material, that they may have experienced. I began learning violin when I was 10 years old through school as well as receiving private lessons. I played first violin in my school orchestra until I graduated in 2014. I also began learning guitar and ukulele when I was 12 through professional lessons as well. Since 2014, I have had experience teaching both groups and private sessions, teaching in-home/studio/online, and have worked with people of various ages and backgrounds. I'm a performing bassist and music educator with a strong background in jazz and classical music. I love to share my love of music with students and help them discover their own unique path. In 2022, I graduated from the Berklee College of Music with a degree in Performance after receiving the Jimmy Lyons full tuition scholarship. I've had the opportunity to study and play with great jazz musicians such as John Patitucci, Linda May Han Oh, Joe Lovano, and Danilo Perez, as well as perform at venues throughout Boston and the US such as Wallys Jazz Cafe, The Lilypad, Berklee Performance Center, Monterey Jazz Festival, and Dazzle Jazz Club.
