For beginner students new to guitar I like to start off with "Berklee Basic Guitar" - Phase 1: Guitar Technique by William Leavitt. Once my students have a firm grasp on the fundamentals of basic music theory sight reading and position playing we can begin taking the necessary steps to prepare for recitals or other performances.
