A student learning how to play a song by his/her favorite artist goes a long way to build confidence and passion for the instrument. For beginner students who are children I like to start by teaching them the songs that they like, because that keeps them focused on learning and engaged in the beginning. Then I go on to teach them the industry standards and classics that every guitar player needs to know to be effective. I teach students of a variety of ages and skill levels and I enjoy developing unique curriculum to fit each students needs and stylistic interests while incorporating elements of theory, ear training, singing and general music fundamentals into the lessons. I feel that teaching using real songs is the best and most engaging way to learn.
