Music has been my life for so long and it is my passion! I started reading sheet music when I was 4. I started to learn Piano when I was 5. At age 7 I started learning basic Music Theory. At age 10, I began my journey with Flute and I have been playing ever since! I have played with the Arlington Community Orchestra, Flower Mound Philharmonic Orchestra, Flower Mound Flute Choir, TWU Wind Symphony, TWU Flute Choir, TWU Jazz band, TWU Pep band, and recently became a sub for the Mesquite Symphony.  Read More

I started teaching music during college teaching private lessons part time 7 years ago. I focus on each individual according to their experience and push them beyond their initial limitations. Over the years I’ve learned how to apply my own learning expirences into my teaching techniques. I am a music educator, performer, and recording artist with more than 40 years of experience. I studied classical music at The Peabody Consevatory of Music and Jazz at Berklee College of Music. I have studied with and taken private lessons from many great musicians. I have performed with and opened for numerous national acts such as James Brown, Patti Labelle, Chaka Khan, Chick Corea, The Rippingtons, and many more. I am a fully-certified music educator of over 20 years: I have taught both middle school band & choir to at-risk youth for 3 years, as well as elementary music at a private Christian academy for an additional 3 years. With the saxophone as my principal instrument of 35 years now, I also play many other instruments that I teach, including: Piano, Violin, Drums, Flute, Clarinet, Trumpet, and Trombone. I firmly believe in an individual approach to each student, highlighting that student's strengths while encouraging improvement. If a student struggles with a particular aspect of playing, I will select the techniques that will hone his or her abilities best and produce a desired outcome.
