I'm a licensed teacher that enjoys sharing my passion for music. In December 2016, I graduated from Lipscomb University with a Bachelor of Music degree in Instrumental Music Education. Performing as part of Cedar Creek Community Band, Marching Band, Wind Ensemble, and Orchestra Pit has given me a variety of experiences to inform my teaching. It was a privilege to inspire these kids to achieve new horizons in their lives, telling them that if they put effort into their flute playing they could go to college for free (like I did), and eventually earn a living in such a beautiful profession. I have been an adjunct professor of music at a local since August 2015 and the flute professor at another college since January of 2017. I hope to influence the upcoming generations of students the same way that professors have influence me in the past. Read More

We move according to each student's unique pace so as to facilitate a positive and productive learning experience. For all students I try to incorporate all elements of music by including appropriate amounts music history and theory into my lessons. For beginners, I tend to utilize Trevor Wye exercises, and slowly incorporate small musical pieces. Although tedious, I believe that scales and etudes make students technically and musically proficient. I therefore include them in my lessons, but ensure the students are gaining the benefit of these exercises. I like to approach lessons from a wholistic standpoint, putting an emphasis on a student's posture, breathing and attitude. Read More
