I make it a point to individualize my lesson plans for each student and cater to their unique needs. As a general starting place, however, I typically start with Trevor Wye's Beginner's Book for the Flute: Part 1 for my novice students. Additionally, I introduce the 12 major scales and arpeggios- which we continue to study and build on throughout our lessons. There will be supplemental materials, especially for more advanced students, that are instrument specific such as etudes and technical exercises. We will continue focusing on band literature, contemporary, classical, or solo literature depending on the goals of the students and their interests.
