I have been a musician for 30yrs. with Alto Sax being my Primary Instrument. Being a Woodwind player I also play Flute, Clarinet, Trumpet, Trombone, Baritone, Tuba, and Percussion. My teaching style is collaborative, I believe in listening to what the student wants to get out of their lessons.  During the initial meeting I always ask the student what are their musical goals.  From there we develop a plan for the student to achieve those goals.  Even though I typically have a plan for each lesson in my mind prior to the lesson, I always ask the student if there is anything specific that has been giving them trouble throughout the week and I make sure that I cover that topic first.  I involve the student in the processing of choosing repertoire as well as I strongly believe that if the student likes the music they are more likely to practice and learn the material.  Read More

I began assisting teachers during high school for extra credit. It later became my job during Full Sail. I worked extensively with grades K-5 on reading, writing and math skills enrichment. When I graduated I started to see my joy was working with children and helping each individual get to their own "next level" and that is when I began teaching music privately. I encourage my students to enter competitions and recitals of which I help with the prep for and can conduct them there if need be.  Read More

My style is based mostly in questions I ask of the student, asking them what they're thinking, feeling, and experiencing as they play certain passages or exercises.
