In 2012, I was the woodwind specialist and helped with the overall coordination of the music for La Salle High school in Cincinnati, Oh. This band won the MSBA Midstate Championship in Class AA. From 2013-2014 I maintained a small studio of saxophone students from many the programs I had worked with to that point. in 2015 I was a Graduate Assistant at Belmont University, I taught "overflow" lessons, non-major/secondary lessons, for my major mentor. I began teaching music in high school by leading flute sectionals in the marching band and music theory to my fellow choir members. I focused on performing during my undergraduate studies; then had the opportunity to share my musical talents in a different way when I began my music therapy career. I like to look at the physical and mental aspects of what produces sound. After sound, it is crucial to work on scales-- as scales are the foundation to all music. I started teaching in 2009 in Mississippi. I taught 6th grade band (beginner), 7th grade band, and high school. I taught in Mississippi for 5 years and just recently moved to Tennessee. While teaching, I've given private lessons to some of my students after school and to some students who did not attend my school. I always encourage doing a recital, entering competitions, and continuing on to college playing their instrument. I love motivating students and challenging them to be the best and nothing less. I played, at the age of 15, in the Venezuelan National Symphonic Band conducted by Berliner Philharmonics trumpet player Thomas Clamor. I was also in the Ad-Libitum woodwind quintet and during my three years in that ensemble, I received master classes with the Berlin Philharmonic woodwind Quintet in two music festivals and Arturo Marquez in another festival.
