I have also taught private lessons on various instruments and in voice since 2008. I have had my students make All-State Honor Band/All-State Choir, I have had students get college scholarships and many have been accepted into colleges as music majors, I have had students nominated for the All-American Army Marching Band, and have even had students perform solo recitals in public venues. Dating back to 2019, I was teaching students part time at the local middle schools in my hometown. I have since moved away and I am looking to get back into teaching. As someone who had gaps of time where I did not have a teacher, I feel that having someone there to encourage you to keep going and to keep learning is the most important to ensure success. I believe in a strong foundation for beginning students and I make sure that is the first part of every lesson, the same way an athlete exercises to stay in shape, a musician must also maintain the facility on their instrument. After fundamentals have been addressed the student moves to solo repertoire, one piece picked by the student, then one picked by me.
