For beginning students who are children, I typically like to start with rudiments and technique studies. Once the student has progressed to have a grasp of the fundamentals, I will introduce the Moeller method. Later will move to the drumset and apply all 3 methods and became to develop what I like to call he groove and bass excises and different warm ups. Doing these techniques can open the door to any number of advanced percussion areas. However, just because rudimentary techniques are necessary doesn't mean they can't be fun!
