I can teach many instruments that I have taught myself how to play well and efficiently. I play in many bands and I am always learning new styles of music. My best instruments are Piano, Bass, Drums, Ukulele, Guitar, Percussion, Harmonica, Recorder, Tin Whistle, Mandolin and also Trumpet. My secondary instruments are everything else. I can fool around on Violin, Cello, Banjo and Trombone as an amateur. I could blow into a Saxophone, Flute, Clarinet, French Horn and probably anything else I can get my hands on, but I would not feel comfortable teaching them yet because I don't have enough time in the world to learn them and figure out how to play them myself and get as good as I can on those instruments. These point are extremely important and sometimes skipped over so developing good performance habits right away is essential. I would also start them with the basics of reading treble clef and learning where the notes on the staff translate to on the neck. There are many books I use, including Ted Reed's syncopation for all levels of students, but I focus most of my time with a student to finding out what inspires them to want to learn the drums, and go from there. I am a young and passionate percussionist who loves being involved in music performance and education. I received my Bachelor of Music in Music Education from LIU Post in 2013, and will be finished my Master of Arts in Music Education from Hofstra University in 2017. I have had many great performance opportunities that include two performances in Carnegie Hall and other smaller venues around the country.
