I began teaching at Humboldt State University in 2010, through an education program for children ages 6-15. During the year and a half I worked there, I discovered a genuine love for sharing the passion and enthusiasm I had for music with my students. After 2 1/2 more year of leading student ensembles, teaching children and adults individually and in groups, and giving private lessons out of my home, I have amassed enough experience to feel confident teaching any student passionate about learning. It did not take long after I first began playing drums in the 4th grade to realize that this was something that I wanted to center my life around. I had the good fortune to attend college for music as well as study at Drummers Collective. I started teaching just after college at several local music stores. I have worked with students of all ages and abilities teaching every style of music and playing imaginable. As a player I have had the opportunity to play with all kinds of ensembles and bands all over the country. Read More

I am a hardworking and fun-loving teacher who loves to push students to reach boundaries they never thought possible! I recently graduated Musicians Institute Hollywood in 2018 with an Associate of Arts degree in Drum Performance. I have been performing with my band Rowdy Clast around Hollywood at local clubs trying to get recognized in the music industry. I hope to pass on some of my knowledge as a performing drummer to my students! Read More

An individual's understanding of music is always changing therefore I feel it is better to change with them. Using methods which are proven is important, but the idea of improvisation during a lesson always keeps the interest for me and the student. Of course this depends completely on the age and the experience of a student. Read More

I love to learn and I love to teach. The more I learn the more I want to share it! I love to help the students to improve and see their progress with time. It's always a pleasure sharing with them and a great challenge to keep them curious and motivated. To the students, I'll help you to settle your goals and develop your skills, but most importantly your ears, your musical culture and your understanding for music. Read More

For beginning students who are children, I typically start with CAGED System. Once the student has progressed to have a grasp of the fundamentals, I will begin to introduce solo repertoire appropriate for their first recital performance looking into different genres such as RnB, Blues, Rock, Pop, Jazz. For adults, I try to find out what the student is interested in, and guide my instruction accordingly to keep the lessons engaging and fun, no matter their ability level. 5 minutes of warm up, 25 of theory, 20 of repertoire and 5 of talking about the next class.
