A class once or twice a week is beneficial I believe for keeping up the continuity of practice. We will work on first the guitar as an instrument, basic chords, chord structures, some basic scales, and over time making chord changes happen as the minds memory/muscle memory for remembering chords grows! This is crucial for making the basic song happen. I encourage my students to find a handful of songs they really enjoy and may want to learn, so that we can learn them piece by peice. Read More

I have been teaching music since 2005. I started as an in home music instructor, providing guitar, bass and piano lessons to people of all ages in their homes. As my teaching experience grew, I've added drums and ensemble/group lessons to my repertoire. I've also been hired as a bass and guitar instructor and curriculum director by a number of private music schools in and around the Boston area. My lessons focus on creating excitement and enthusiasm for the instrument through playing examples, live playing or "jamming" and encouraging the student to develop a consistent practice schedule. I remember sitting there with these older musicians, lost in the feeling and movement of the music as though I had transcended this plane of existence. In the following four months or so, I joined two bands and began playing live at every possible opportunity: Teen centers, town halls, art spaces, motorcycle rides, homecoming festivals, you name it. The ride that began over a decade ago continues to this day, and the roller coaster just seems to be climbing higher and higher all the time. Read More

I have been teaching since the age of 15. I've trained young church drummers as well as older individuals looking to either get back into drumming or improve their skills even more. No matter the skill level, my approach focuses on maxing the potential of the student. My playing experience spands more than 12 years in churches, bars, shows, and small business events. Read More

There are many different ways to teach. Som of my methods are as follows. 1- Freestyle. Feeling a certain rythm and figuring out how and what to play as far as that genre goes. 2- Feel. Understanding the undertone of music and how it should be felt by a listener or an audience. 3- Placement. This is the art of putting different little embelishments, in music, and in songs. It halps the music to progress and gives it different dynamics and vantage points in which the musician can be felt and heard. 4- Hearing. Read More

I began teaching in 2009 while I was attending the University of Massachusetts Lowell. While I was a student I began to study with some truly great musicians who really helped me realize my potential. I got some jobs teaching area high school drumlines and marching bands and really enjoyed the experience. When I first started playing I was mostly interested in marching bands and drumlines. I marched multiple seasons with the Boston University Winter Percussion Ensemble while in high school and then held the center snare position with the Spartans Drum and Bugle Corps.. Read More
