Our music lesson students will have the opportunity to take lessons from the comfort of their own home or in one of the teachers studios. Careful attention is placed on each student to ensure a custom lesson plan. I am interested in helping others experience the joy of making music. I began playing trumpet at age 11 and went on to play and teach professionally. I reached much success in high school when I was awarded the first chair in the Alabama All-State Band. I then went on to study to be both a performer and educator in college. Because every student is unique, and learns and grows at at different rate, my approach to every student will be different. An emphasis on regularity and time management is essential to a student who wants to grow, so I assign realistic goals for each lesson. My lessons are most often dived into three parts: technical studies, etudes, and solos. I am a passionate music educator who loves working with instrumental students of all ages. In 2015, I graduated from Carson-Newman University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Instrumental and Vocal Music Education. During my time there, I participated in many ensembles and was awarded with several honors for my saxophone performance abilities. During this time, I also studied the oboe as my secondary instrument. I began teaching as soon as I enrolled in college. I was woodwind teacher from 2008-2010 for Dixie Heights high school marching band. In this role I was teaching in large group and one on one settings. In 2010 I was also hired to teach lessons for Boone County HS, another of the many NKY schools.
