Our music lesson students will have the opportunity to take lessons from the comfort of their own home or in one of the teachers studios. Careful attention is placed on each student to ensure a custom lesson plan. I try to have a very positive approach to teaching. I believe that if a student is told what they are doing wrong constantly, they will feel like they aren't good enough for the instrument, or they will lose interest. For violin, viola, cello and bass, I teach the Suzuki method. The Suzuki method is based strongly on memory and takes a systematic approach to introducing music of increasing difficulty. For classical guitar, I start off with the Frederick Noad system, "Solo Guitar Playing", and scales. As skill level increases, I assign more etudes and standard guitar repertoire. For acoustic guitar, I teach almost exclusively finger-picking. I teach the same high standard skills for acoustic guitar that I teach for classical, but concentrate on masterpieces of the repertoire. Read More

I've been singing since I was a child. I've played in school orchestra and church praise band even before college. I've performed for the president and sung in Moscow's Red Square. My studies have focused on liturgical church music though my pentecostal church background has helped combine spirit with tradition. There is no one style one must follow. Rather, one's style is developed over a lifetime. My goal in cello teaching is to teach the correct way practice and play the instrument. A cellist grows in the degree of effort and practice. Correct rudiments will last a lifetime that will assist each student develop to the degree they wish to.
