Our music lesson students will have the opportunity to take lessons from the comfort of their own home or in one of the teachers studios. Careful attention is placed on each student to ensure a custom lesson plan. Our music teachers understand that every student has different needs and abilities and therefore the lessons will be planned with that knowledge in mind.

My repertoire includes the 6 Bach Suites for cello solo, Haydn cello concerto #1 D and C major, Saint Saens cello concerto in A minor, Vivaldi 6 cello sonatas, Brahms cello Sonata, Dotzauer, Gruetzmacher and Popper cello etudes. I use the Whitehouse scale book and Marc Yampolsky chord book. My favorite cellist is Janos Starker. There is a recording of him playing the 3 Spanish dances based on a theme from Goya, by Grenados. I began giving lessons in my 2nd semester in college. I have been able to meet people from all walks of life and given lessons to students from ages 3 to 68. I read a great amount of classical literature and study allot of history; I say this to acknowledge the fact that I don't only teach proficiency in the music discipline. I do this to feed the mind a series of intellectual thought that will help the student to question and meditate on new ideas. Read More

I have been teaching for about 10 years now, both privately and in various music lesson stores throughout the Tampa Bay area. I have taught students ranging from 5 to 60 years of age. My students have been accepted into Blake Performing Arts High School, All County Orchestras, Tampa Bay Youth Orchestras, Tampa Metropolitan Youth Orchestras, and even Florida's All State Orchestras. I believe that theory is important, but practice makes all the difference. I like playing with my students, this way, they can see my hands, and my moves and hear what I am doing. It is important that each student progresses at his or her own pace. I always try to end a lesson with the song that they dream to play one day perfectly. My early background was based in Essential Elements (school orchestra) and the Suzuki Method (individual lessons). I have experience teaching Suzuki group classes and utilizing the books for individual instruction, though I have my own ideas about scaffolding to suit each student. I have created my own exercises to teach basic technique with an emphasis on active listening and body awareness, two critical skills to develop for successful independent practice. Read More
