I have over 15 years experience teaching privately as well as teaching band and orchestra in public schools. At one time I taught thirty-eight, half hour band and orchestra sessions every week. This included private Jazz ensembles and orchestra—all at the Elementary level. Minjung won her first award in cello competition at Dong-A Youth Competition and followed it with 1st prize at Chungnam Philharmonic Orchestra Classic Competition two years in a row. As results, Minjung performed with Chungnam Philharmonic Orchestra twice at the Civic Art Center. Based on her multiple winnings, she received full scholarship to attend in one of the most prestige college in Korea, Sookmyung Women's University. Minjung continued her music studies in classical and contemporary musics, and received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Cello Performance. Read More

I am a younger instructor who is very excited and passionate about the inter- and intra-personal aspects of music and teaching music. First discovering my love of performing and problem solving through chamber music, I have since received a dual degree from UMass Amherst in Music and Social ThoughtPolitical Economy, and I am now pursuing my Masters of Music in Cello Performance at Boston University. For beginning students I start with the Suzuki cello books, and teach books 1 to 5. I reinforce the Suzuki with pop/ non-classical songs, depending on the student's interest. After Suzuki 5, which is well into the intermediate level, I introduce individual works (small concerto's, sonatas, etc.) and cater them towards the student's ability and interest. For younger or beginner students, I reinforce the Suzuki books with sight-reading, and as they progress, I add in etude studies.  Read More
