I find the most rewarding thing about teaching music is the spark that ignites in each individual student to blossom into a musician. For beginning students on guitar i typically start wih Hal Leonards book 1. With about 50 pages in this book, we can go thru at a steady pace and be playing songs from the beginning. Makeing music from the very beginning is the key ! Even the simple one line practice exercizes i back up with a harmonic chordal accompaniment for a satisfying duet. I have been the recipient of commendations such as the Charlotte Music Society Performance Excellence Award and Semi Finalist in the Music Academy of North Carolina's International Guitar Festival in 2010. I have recently performed with the Bechtler Ensemble as part of CPCC's Sensoria Arts Festival in Charlotte, NC. I also currently perform with guitarist Jeremy Polley in the EP Guitar Duo regionally.
