Our music lesson students will have the opportunity to take lessons from the comfort of their own home or in one of the teachers studios. Careful attention is placed on each student to ensure a custom lesson plan. Our music teachers understand that every student has different needs and abilities and therefore the lessons will be planned with that knowledge in mind.

I consider myself to be a Swiss Army Musician. I earned my BS in Music Ed from Western Carolina University and my MM in Percussion from Appalachian State University. I love variety more than anything! I love widening my perspective by dipping my toes into as many different styles and instruments as possible. That said, my two main avenues are rock and metal drum set, and marimba. I love having a foot in both the metal and classical worlds. Read More

I base how fast my lessons advance on how quickly the student learns and how often the student practices on his/her own. I ask my students to play their instrument every day. I believe encouragementis much more productive than criticism, so I will acknowledge a students accomplishments regularly to keep them motivated. Read More

I believe in training students both as instrumentalists and as overall musicians. Thus, beginning cello students will start with the Suzuki method to get basic technique down. Then, as a student improves, solo repertoire will be introduced from both the Suzuki method and other sources. Once a student has reached a state of proficiency, I will cater my teaching instead to the style that the student prefers. We can continue in classical music, or transition to contemporary styles.
