My teaching experience dates all the way back to my high school days when I gave trumpet lessons to some younger family members.  I expanded to giving trumpet lessons to adults and youth during my undergraduate days at The University of Akron.  When I started graduate school there, I began teaching voice lessons, composition and arranging lessons, and conducting lessons.  I also have experience teaching in group and classroom settings for college and high school aged students. Whether you are belting out Celine Dion or delicately exploring the passion and beauty of a Schubert Art Song, 99% of the technique remains the same--the fundaments of breath support, posture, vowel shape, formants, laryngeal posture, etc. As an instructor I reinforce those fundamentals very hard from the beginning because establishing a solid technical base is paramount to healthful singing in any style.
