Careful attention is placed on each student to ensure a custom lesson plan. For voice students, I tailor my lesson plans to each students individual goals. For students pursuing classical lesson, I would start with repertoire from "25 Italian Songs and Arias." For more advanced students, I would find repertoire that fit their voice type from operas, or aria books. For beginning students who are children, I like to start with a book filled with colors and pictures and that contains solos and theory. For piano, I use Faber instructional books for piano. I teach music theory which include but not limited to scales, rhythm, etc. I give instruction on music vocabulary and literature. Furthermore, students learn some music history which includes the different eras and composers. Also, I teach vocal pedagogy which includes but not limited to breathing and phonation. At the end of the day, my main goal is to have my students love music so much that they'd rather practice than watch the latest episode of their favorite TV show.
