I love kids and music and decided to combine the two. Piano lessons from fourth grade through high school furthered my love for instruments. I played flute and piccolo through high school and then graduated with my Bachelors of Instrumental Music Education from Troy in 2005. At the end of the day, my main goal is to have my students love music so much that they'd rather practice than watch the latest episode of their favorite TV show. I want my students to go the their music whenever they have a chance, not because they have to practice, but because they want to. I also have adult books, which are more suitable for the older student, but I am also open for teaching in an area that the student is desiring to learn, and so I can find things to teach that accomidates that. My teaching experience dates back to my days in High School, as I quickly became the section leader in the tuba section in band and I was responsible for tutoring and assisting the band director with training the other tuba players. I really enjoyed teaching parts on and off the field and I really excelled. After High School, I joined the military and while I was in the Army, I joined a gospel acapella singing group and I was one of the guys responsible for teaching all of the vocal parts. Read More
