Greetings! I am a dedicated instructor who believes in cultivating students into being the best musician possible. I have studied the art of music in the forms of voice and piano since the age of four years old from Birmingham Southern College. I received my Bachelors in piano and voice from Samford University and my Masters and Doctorate from the University of Miami. Currently, I am working on my certification in vocal techniques at Berklee. I am a retired Army officer and I performed with the Army Band for over ten years. I have traveled with the band all over the United States and abroad singing and playing professionally. I have performed with Opera Birmingham and I am a member of the Alabama Symphony Chorus. Furthermore, I worked as an adjunct music professor at Birmingham Southern College teaching piano and vocal instruction. My philosophy is that you only get what you put forth. Therefore, give your best, work hard and you will reap the benefits of your hard work. Music is a discipline and you must work hard to obtain the right tools to become a well-trained, diverse musician. I believe that the arts in general makes the whole child. In my teaching experience, I have seen behaviors change in children and youth. They have been able to express themselves. Furthermore, they have developed more focus and discipline. Music is a great asset to have in life. It is the universal language. I look forward to working with you all!
