Overview:

I am passionate about music in all forms. I love performing, teaching, and listening to music anytime I can. I graduated with my Associate's degree in vocal performance from Pensacola State College in 2016. After PSC, I transferred to the University of Mobile in the fall of 2016. In May of 2019, I graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Worship Leadership and a Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance. I have had the opportunity to tour and perform all over the nation as a singer. There is nothing I have enjoyed more than jumping on a bus with my closest friends and sharing our music with everyone we meet. I currently serve in a church as a contemporary worship pastor where I lead a band and a choir. Within the band, I sing, play keys, and play guitar. I also have served in a church in the past where I was the pianist for a more traditional service.

EXPERIENCE

I began teaching shortly after I graduated from Pensacola State College and fell in love with helping guide and sharpen musicians. While at PSC, I sang in Concert Chorale and Jazz Choir. While studying at UM, I was part of the University Singers and the Concert Chorale. I am well-rounded in musical theater, classical opera, country, and many other styles of music. I have performed musicals such as White Christmas and Shrek. I have also performed in many operas such as, Le Nozze di Figaro, The Three Little Pigs, The Gondoliers, and L'Enfant et les sortilèges. I have had the wonderful opportunity of performing with the University of Mobile's performing arts students in the annual Christmas Spectacular three times. This program is broadcast on international television each year and provides immense experience with performing for large crowds of over 10,000 people. The University of Mobile also gave me the opportunity to tour as a singer with two traveling ensembles, Sounds of Mobile, and Sofree. Sounds of Mobile was a musical theater based ensemble that traveled across the nation singing, dancing, and teaching. Sofree is a gospel based ensemble compiled of all girls. With Sofree, I toured all over the south east performing gospel and contemporary worship songs. I had the wonderful opportunity to lead Sofree as their musical director. In this role, I got to teach, shape, and sharpen the singers in their craft. I had the best time pouring into those girls. I have six years of experience in vocal studies and in teaching voice. Aside from teaching voice, I have taught beginning guitar lessons for a year and beginning to intermediate piano lessons for four years.

METHODS USED

For voice students, I tailor my lesson plans to each students individual goals. For students pursuing classical lesson, I would start with repertoire from "25 Italian Songs and Arias." For more advanced students, I would find repertoire that fit their voice type from operas, or aria books. I encourage all of my students to do at least one classical song because the technique that can be learned from that is extremely helpful. In students who are interested in Musical Theater, Worship music, or any other genres, I would tailor their repertoire to that genre. I will always help students choose music that they relate to, have fun with, and genuinely enjoy singing.

LESSON STYLE

I love to help my students create their own passion, love, and connection to music. If a student is really passionate and connected to what they are doing, they will be more inclined to practice on their own time, develop their skill, and be a successful musician. Much of this passion comes from understanding the students goals and working to get their together. Each student is unique in how they learn and in what they are striving for. It is important to cater to each individual's needs. Rather than teaching every student the same way, I prefer to learn how my students learn best, and cater to each of them as best as I can.

Select all the days/times the student would be available to start lessons. Selecting "3pm - 7pm" means the student can start as early as 3pm or start as late as 7pm. It is important that you select as many days and the widest window of start times for each day as possible. That will help us make a match with one of our teachers.
