I began to teach students in my home studio. Working in Musical theater, I gained more experience teaching piano and voice, accompaniment to ballet classes and theatrical plays. I start every single one of my lessons the same way, by talking to my student. I ask them questions to gauge where they are at musically both with their performance and theoretical skills. I also generally spend the first few lessons trying out different teaching techniques to see which ones will be the most effective for that specific student. I am a multi-instrumentalist, having played piano (classical and pop/rock/blues and more) for 25 years, guitar and vocals for 17 years, and various other instruments including mandolin, banjo, blues and folk harmonica, bass guitar, 12-string guitar for over 10 years. I studied music and theory since age 5 all the way through the university level. I have taught professionally starting in 2014. I also compose songs, and love playing out. I have played in many ensembles including the Marching Wildcats, the symphonic and concert bands of Bethune-Cookman, Interlochen Arts Camp (Interlochen, MI) Staff Recital, the South Florida Symphonic Band, various Alumni ensembles as well as toured a summer in the United Kingdom as a street performer.
