I begin by training a student how to listen (in the same way that a child would hear words before he could speak). From that point, a student learns to "speak" or play musical sentences. As stated above, my teaching style is very straight forward. It is important that each student feels comfortable moving at their own pace. I will push each student in their lessons to become better musicians and singers. I believe in body awareness, so dress comfortably. Each lesson will consist of vocal warm-ups and technique work during the first half of the lesson. I've taught both in public school and privately.  I teach students of all ages and levels.  I have a solid classical background but am well rounded in using a variety of styles to enhance students' enjoyment, learning, and appreciation of music.
