I have been teaching since college when I was 22. I have trained multiple band-mates from scratch. I continue my training on all my instruments and I am considering becoming a music professor at a university eventually and possibly. I have a history with several students from ages 4-28. I have even taught students with learning disabilities such as ADD, ADHD, etc. In addition, I believe music is a great communicator for people who have a lot to express. Read More

For voice students, I tailor my lesson plans to each students individual goals. For students pursuing classical lesson, I would start with repertoire from "25 Italian Songs and Arias." For more advanced students, I would find repertoire that fit their voice type from operas, or aria books. I encourage all of my students to do at least one classical song because the technique that can be learned from that is extremely helpful. Read More

I will admit will full confidence that I am the type of teacher to keep it laid back and casual, but will not let my student stop giving me their full effort. If anything, they will be disappointing themself in the future, and I refuse to allow that to happen. If I do not make my student laugh in the first ten minutes of the lesson, then I have failed to make them comfortable for that lesson. Read More

I love when a student is excited coming to their lesson and learning! My style is simple. I am very hands on but I do believe in effective learning. I Expect my students to practice. I am told that I am hard at times but I just believe in giving your level best! No practice doesn't make perfect but it does make successful and competent musicians.
