I love kids and music and decided to combine the two. Piano lessons from fourth grade through high school furthered my love for instruments. I played flute and piccolo through high school and then graduated with my Bachelors of Instrumental Music Education from Troy in 2005. I then worked for several years with Camp Victory in various capacities, including music. Now I teach private lessons through Encore! Fine Arts Studio as well as Musika and elsewhere. Read More

One of the foundations of my teaching philosophy is helping students build healthy, consistent practice habits. Regular, focused practice not only improves skill; it deepens their passion and confidence. I also believe in exposing students to a blend of traditional and contemporary music, giving them opportunities to explore creativity while developing strong technical fundamentals. Whether a students interests lean toward classical repertoire, modern worship, jazz, musical theatre, or band literature, I tailor lessons to keep them engaged, challenged, and excited to learn. Who knew just how much joy you can bring into a person's life just from learning a "G"? From then on, I began teaching both children and adults at my home studio. Read More
Instruments: Voice
For voice students, I tailor my lesson plans to each students individual goals. For students pursuing classical lesson, I would start with repertoire from "25 Italian Songs and Arias." For more advanced students, I would find repertoire that fit their voice type from operas, or aria books. I encourage all of my students to do at least one classical song because the technique that can be learned from that is extremely helpful. Read More

My teaching experience dates back to my days in High School, as I quickly became the section leader in the tuba section in band and I was responsible for tutoring and assisting the band director with training the other tuba players. I really enjoyed teaching parts on and off the field and I really excelled. After High School, I joined the military and while I was in the Army, I joined a gospel acapella singing group and I was one of the guys responsible for teaching all of the vocal parts. Read More
