At the same time I was learning percussion and drums in grade school. Two years later, I started singing and piano lessons from my musical mentor and friend Margery Heinz. I started my musical studies at a summer workshop coarse athe the University of Southern California where I studied Jazz performance. Then I attended a local community college in New England where I received my certificate of music and from there I went on to  the University of Massachusettes where I received my associates of music education degree. Ganz's method is superior. He was the teacher of great pianists in America and to testify to his success , one of his students ,Dorothy Donegan, who became a Jazz pianist, was referred to by Art Tatum as "The only woman who can make me practice".
