Our music lesson students will have the opportunity to take lessons from the comfort of their own home or in one of the teachers studios. Careful attention is placed on each student to ensure a custom lesson plan. Our music teachers understand that every student has different needs and abilities and therefore the lessons will be planned with that knowledge in mind.

I strive to set realistic goals and encourage my students to set realistic goals for themselves! This gives them an eagerness to learn because it is within their grasp. For example, If someone has a goal to be on american idol one day, I will have him/ her set a smaller goal to get there such as breath support or intonation. Cardinal Singers was also invited to perform at the Carnegie Hall in 2017. I also traveled annually with the group to perform in festivals and international competitions around the world including Taiwan, Singapore, Korea, China, Germany, Poland, Austria, Croatia, and Slovenia and won numerous awards, the most recent being the grand prize at the International Choir Competition Zadar Croatia. I was also involved with the Collegiate Chorale that regularly collaborates with the Louisville Orchestra, performing works including the Beethoven's 9th symphony, Mahler's 2nd symphony, Bernstein's Mass and Chichester Psalms, Mozart's Requiem, and Orff's Carmina Burana. During my 14 years of music teaching experience, I have worked with students as a public school music teacher, a studio private lesson teacher for piano, voice, oboe, flute, clarinet and saxophone. I've started studio programs for music theory, group piano, preschool music and musical theater. I've worked with students of all ages and experience levels who have a wide range of musical goals. Because I have a background in Kodaly and Orff instructional methods as well as advanced knowledge of musical theory, composition, music history and recording arts, I incorporate these elements within my instruction as students learn a piece of music. My style largely depends on the student and his/her needs and interests. I enjoy using rewards-based encouragement, especially for younger students. The rewards I give are always musical and I usually let the student choose. For example, one of the rewards for consistent practice, learning songs, and listening to recordings is the opportunity to write a parody song.
