I use probably more of the Faber series than any other, but also use Bastien and Alfred piano books. I sometimes recommend all four,(Lesson, Theory, Tecnique, Performance) but often just use two - Lesson and Theory. Most kids can handle 3 songs a week, but sometimes only 2. I move methodically through the books, making sure they understand thoroughly an idea before moving too quickly ahead. This is how they look back and reflect during their individual practice. I started teaching private lessons at the age of 15. I am classically trained but do enjoy Celtic and fiddling music as well. I had the opportunity to voluntarily teach violin and cello at community center in 2017. I have also taught Suzuki group classes as well.
