Our music lesson students will have the opportunity to take lessons from the comfort of their own home or in one of the teachers studios. Careful attention is placed on each student to ensure a custom lesson plan. Nothing is more rewarding than seeing one of my students develop a passion for music! I tailor things to each students age, level and goals. I think anyone is able to learn an instrument and understand that we each learn and approach things differently. Some students are more oral or visual learners. Every student is unique so I adjust my teaching style and methods/music taught to the needs of the student. I love the Suzuki Method for young students and adults alike. But I also refer to several fiddle methods including Craig Duncan's books, "American Fiddle Method" and "Kid Fiddle" for students who wish to learn fiddle tunes. I studied piano and violin during elementary, middle and high school, playing with the Metropolitan Youth Orchestra in the 70's. In college I pursued voice and violin and studied music theory, history of opera, orchestra, chorus. I was interested in acting and musical theatre and did further studies at MacPhail School of Music. (Minneapolis, Minnesota). I performed in night clubs, for weddings, churches and conferences over the years. Eventually, I sang and wrote songs on guitar and performed for many New Thought churches from 1980s - 2000's.
