Our music lesson students will have the opportunity to take lessons from the comfort of their own home or in one of the teachers studios. Careful attention is placed on each student to ensure a custom lesson plan. Our music teachers understand that every student has different needs and abilities and therefore the lessons will be planned with that knowledge in mind.

I began teaching private lessons in high school for a side income. I took several music theory classes and am fluent in reading all types of music (bass, treble, alto) I also have an ear for music. I have been teaching since my junior year of high school. I construct my lessons to best fit the student's passions and interests, as well as their strengths and weakness. If the student has a good ear and is interested in learning how to play pop piano, we work on aural skills and learning how to play a song by ear only. If the student likes a particular classical era, we dive deeply into that and learn the minutiae of the style. Read More

In 1979 I graduated from Truman State University with a Bachelor of Music Education degree in Instrumental Secondary-Elementary Music specializing in Orchestral Music, Kirksville, Missouri. In 2004 I also earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Cello Performance specializing in Baroque Period Music from Southeast Missouri State University in Cape Girardeau, Missouri.I feel that I as an instructor should also be a performer and set an example for my students. I'm a young violin instructor who is passionate about teaching music to students of all ages. I graduated from Park University in 2017 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Violin Performance, and I am currently working on my master's degree. I enjoy performing, and I often perform throughout the Kansas City area, as well as various opportunities around the world. I also travel to various international violin competitions; in January of 2018, I was awarded fourth prize at the Singapore International Violin Competition. Read More

Radio broadcasts include Ozark Public Radio KSMU, Kansas Public Radio KANU, and Tulsa Public Radio KWTU. In 2008, I won the Oral Roberts University 20th Century Music Competition with Joan Tower's Platinum Spirals. Winning that competition sparked my interest in discovering and performing New Music.
