Our music lesson students will have the opportunity to take lessons from the comfort of their own home or in one of the teachers studios. Careful attention is placed on each student to ensure a custom lesson plan. Our music teachers understand that every student has different needs and abilities and therefore the lessons will be planned with that knowledge in mind.

For the students who are just starting out, I have the Essential Elements books to help the student learn notes, read music, and with that book it helps because most of the songs you know, Mary Had a Little Lamb for example. As the student grows I move them to something that they would enjoy such as pop music or even movie music, then from there moving the student onto the solo repertoire for recitals in any genre that they want, Jazz, Classical, or other. I began teaching music lessons to my friends and peers who were beginning to take up new instruments(piano, bass, & guitar) when I was in middle school. At that time, I had developed a strong foundation in piano, begun learning trumpet in school, and self-taught myself the guitar. In high school, I taught younger students throughout the school district private lessons in trumpet through an organization called Arts Without Boundaries - many of these students took lessons with me for multiple years. Not only do I teach students how to play or create music, but also how to successfully set goals and achieve them. Every musician should have a goal in mind when practicing. Learning how to manage that goal can be tricky. I like to work together with students to take their goals and break them down smaller into more manageable pieces for them to master. I have studied with: Lin Biviano (Buddy Rich, Lawrence Welk, Woody Herman) Larry Hudson (Rouge Valley Symphony), George Recker (Lincoln Center, Eugene Symphony), David Bender (Eugene Symphony), and I have taken individual lessons from Fred Sauter (Oregon Symphony) and Charles Schluter (Chigaco Symphony) I studied piano and Jazz Theory with Toby Konigsberg, recording artist and Jazz piano instructor at the University of Oregon. I have found that my experience as a performer in Jazz, Pop and Classical music has deeply informed my teaching. Read More
