I am passionate about expressing my creative artistry through my music. As an instructor, I work with students to cultivate their artistic goals while creating a positive learning environment. I moved to Eugene from Boston, Massachusetts. It is there that I graduated from Boston Conservatory with a Masters of Music degree in Trumpet Performance. For the students who are just starting out, I have the Essential Elements books to help the student learn notes, read music, and with that book it helps because most of the songs you know, Mary Had a Little Lamb for example. As the student grows I move them to something that they would enjoy such as pop music or even movie music, then from there moving the student onto the solo repertoire for recitals in any genre that they want, Jazz, Classical, or other. I have studied with: Lin Biviano (Buddy Rich, Lawrence Welk, Woody Herman) Larry Hudson (Rouge Valley Symphony), George Recker (Lincoln Center, Eugene Symphony), David Bender (Eugene Symphony), and I have taken individual lessons from Fred Sauter (Oregon Symphony) and Charles Schluter (Chigaco Symphony) I studied piano and Jazz Theory with Toby Konigsberg, recording artist and Jazz piano instructor at the University of Oregon. I have found that my experience as a performer in Jazz, Pop and Classical music has deeply informed my teaching. Read More

During my time there, I also self-recorded and produced my first three full length albums as well as Elizabeth Boaz's album "Forgiving the Rain." As a trumpet player, I was a member of the Seattle Chinese Orchestra for three years and the Seattle-based band Dismal Thinkings. Following graduation, I moved to Petaluma to quarantine, teach music lessons, and work on musical projects with my duo Honey Disposition. While my primary instrument is trumpet, I also love to teach piano, guitar, songwriting, producing, composition, and theory. Read More
