My teaching experience started during my Undergraduate studies in Purchase, New York. I had the opportunity to travel to a local elementary school and perform a chamber music masterclass for all of the brass players with several other brass students from the conservatory. We created workshops for young brass students to actively participate in and answered questions along the way. This experience is what initially opened my eyes to the beauty of teaching music. I have been a K-12 teacher at Lake County School District #7 in Oregon. I graduated from Youngstown State University with a Bachelor's Degree in Music Education and a Master's Degree in Music Education at The University of Akron. I studied Clarinet as my main instrument, then piano, saxophone, trumpet, trombone and more. Being an independent artist myself and having to wear many different hats, I understand the importance of curiosity and versatility. I approach every student differently as each student is a different person with a different background who holds their own unique interests and mode of learning. I don't see any reason why a student shouldn't be refining their songwriting chops while also brushing up on classical piano skills or why a jazz trumpet student shouldn't feel empowered to learn the art of recording and producing.
