MM, Boston Conservatory, Trumpet Performance BM, SUNY Purchase Conservatory of Music, Trumpet Performance
I am passionate about expressing my creative artistry through my music. As an instructor, I work with students to cultivate their artistic goals while creating a positive learning environment. I moved to Eugene from Boston, Massachusetts. It is there that I graduated from Boston Conservatory with a Masters of Music degree in Trumpet Performance. I studied under the teachings of Thomas Siders, Associate Principle of the Boston Symphony Orchestra. I have performed throughout the Boston area and began teaching through the conservatory. I had the opportunity to perform at Symphony Hall, Old South Church, Sanders Theatre at Harvard University, and Jordan Hall at New England Conservatory. Before Boston, I studied at SUNY Purchase Conservatory of Music and graduated with a Bachelors of Music degree in Trumpet Performance.
My teaching experience started during my Undergraduate studies in Purchase, New York. I had the opportunity to travel to a local elementary school and perform a chamber music masterclass for all of the brass players with several other brass students from the conservatory. We created workshops for young brass students to actively participate in and answered questions along the way. This experience is what initially opened my eyes to the beauty of teaching music. Finding creative ways to show these kids how they can achieve their music goals was a fulfilling feeling. From small goals to big dreams, I approach each student with the passion and motivation to help them progress and feel accomplished.
My method of teaching begins with establishing a students learning strengths (auditory, visual, kin-aesthetic, etc.). From there I can more thoroughly formulate and personalize each lesson for success. With students who are just starting out on Trumpet or in their early stages, I emphasize a large focus on establishing a strong foundation with fundamentals. I like to make sure I fully understand the students goals, strengths, and weaknesses so I am better able to guide my instruction accordingly.
There are so many elements that take part in a students success. Besides the physicality/technique of playing the instrument, there is creating a healthy mindset, overcoming mental blocks, mind-body connection, and developing a practice routine that is right for each student. As a teacher, I make it a mission to work with the student and customize how to reach their goals. What works for one student may not work for another. I am passionate about providing a space for learning, growth, and developing strengths that will extend beyond the areas of music!

Select all the days/times the student would be available to start lessons. Selecting "3pm - 7pm" means the student can start as early as 3pm or start as late as 7pm. It is important that you select as many days and the widest window of start times for each day as possible. That will help us make a match with one of our teachers.
OkAre you sure that's your only availability? The more availability you easier it will be to arrange a teacher for you.
