I always enjoy seeing the light bulb moment my students get when they get something right, and learn something new. My teaching method is a simple stacking method we start with a lesson, I try to find where the student may struggle most and spend time with that. Then we move forward, but revisit the lesson prior for continuity. My teaching experience dates back to 2002 when I became Graduate Assistant to Demondrea Thurman, at Alabama State University.While working on my MM at The University of Alabama, whereI studied with J. Michael Dunn, I taught undergraduate tuba and euphonium majors.After graduating in 2005,I served as the professor of Lower Brass at Florida AM University, where I was also Director of Lower Brass to the Marching 100, I taught a studio of 30+ students per semester.From 2008-2010 I served as adjunct Professor of Lower Brass at Alabama State University. I break down the overall goal to a small step that is doable for the student. I am nice and patient with students, meanwhile, I insist on they accomplishing my instruction. It is fine if it takes several tries, but most importantly is that they had to try. Practicing is a way to learn from the mistake and how to avoid it. My teaching experiences started when I was beginning my bachelor studies in 2008. I worked in elementary and high schools programs, teaching trumpet, directing small and big ensembles for many years, I was Trumpet Instructor of a Youth Symphonic Orchestra Called: Sinfonia por el Peru del tenor Juan Diego Flores.
