Their goal becomes my goal and it gives me great satisfaction to help them gain the musical and instrumental skills they need to reach their goal, whatever that may be. My teaching experience began in 2006. During my college years I taught trombone to fellow students and later as a college instructor and high school band director, taught young adults. My experience as an elementary school teacher has rewarded me with skills to work with younger children. I now work with seasoned musicians as a mentor and coach. I have fun too. For my beginners, we focus heavily on creating familiarity with the horn by fostering an environment of healthy habits. Our primary concern with beginners is being comfortable enough with the horn to be i complete control of the demands asked at this level.
