Overview:
I'm a mellifluous performer and passionate music educator. I completed my graduate degree in Trombone Performance at the University of Denver - Lamont School of Music in 2017 and his undergraduate degree in Music Education at the University of Arkansas - Fort Smith in Spring 2015. I was privileged to receive private lessons from guest artists at UAFS: Andy Martin and John Fedchock. During his time earning these degrees I learned how to teach in many different technqiues and how to teach all sorts of leaners. I love sharing my own passion of music with others and hopefully having them learn the same passion for themselves.
EXPERIENCE
I have taught lessons since the beginning of college with all ages and learning types. Teaching has always been a passion of mine so I pursue it whenever I can. I taught lessons at both UAFS and DU during my time earning my degrees. I held a Graduate Teaching Assistantship at DU where I assisted with rehearsals, lessons, and planning, which has helped me build my teaching techniques and learn the quickest way to improvement. With teachers like Scott Bean, Steve Wiest, and Warren Deck, how could you go wrong?
METHODS USED
I start every student off the with basics, no matter what age. Fundamentals are a crucial skill that have to be correct if you plan to play great. We will work simple scales, articulations, and etudes to make sure the student is understanding the correct way to play which will lead to learning harder concepts easier and quicker. I have a plethora of simple etude books that I have and still continue to practice to this day to hone my skills. I will also instill core values in the student that every musician and great person need.
LESSON STYLE
I like to learn who my student is before starting anything. I want to know what their interests are and what their view on music is. I then take that and bond with them and teach them in a certain way that matches their thoughts and personalities the best. I like to have fun and not be too strict as long as the student is doing their work, but if they are not staying on track the fun is replaced with more focus on concepts to be sure they are learning what is needed. Nothing makes me happier than seeing a student succeed at a musical instrument.

Select all the days/times the student would be available to start lessons. Selecting "3pm - 7pm" means the student can start as early as 3pm or start as late as 7pm. It is important that you select as many days and the widest window of start times for each day as possible. That will help us make a match with one of our teachers.
