I graduated in 2011 from SMU with my music degree in Trumpet Performance, and have been teaching privately in the Dallas area ever since. Although while at SMU my focus was mainly on orchestral playing and classical techniques, I am equally comfortable playing jazz and commercial styles, and honestly probably play those styles just as much as I do orchestral work now. For each lesson, I begin with a 5 to 10 minute warmup before moving on to the student's assigned music.  I like to alternate between actual performance/practicing, and teaching concepts including music theory.  I also wrap-up every lesson by spending 5 minutes in review with the student, going over what they need to practice in the coming week ahead. I am currently pursuing a Bachelor of Music Degree in Bass Trombone Performance at New England Conservatory in Boston, Massachusetts, studying under James Markey, bass trombonist of the Boston Symphony Orchestra. I am a fully-certified music educator of 18 years: I have taught both middle school band & choir to at-risk youth for 3 years, as well as elementary music at a private Christian academy for an additional 3 years. I have been teaching lessons since I studied back in Thailand, Singapore, and United States. Currently, I am teaching high school and middle school in Dallas-Fort Worth area. Through teaching, I have enjoyed watching my students succeed and overcome their struggles. The process of experimentation has been a learning one for both my students and myself.
