I am a native of Houston, Texas and a trumpet player. I attended Stephen F. Austin State University for my Bachelor's Degree,and afterwards I decided to move to Cincinnati to study with a few of the trumpet players in the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra. I start beginner's on scales and fundamentals, and once they grasp the basics of reading music and the instrument (hopefully in after a couple of lessons) I have them start on The First Book of Practical Studies so that they can begin to learn to play very simple melodies and to reinforce their ability to read music.
