I'm a passionate and motivated instructor who loves working with students and sharing my love of music. In 2007, I graduated from the University of Central Arkansas with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Piano/Trombone Performance. Performing all over the world has been one of the greater experiences of my life as a musician, and I've had the opportunity to play in Hollywood on American Idol, Hong Kong, Costa Rica, United Kingdom, Bahamas, Puerto Rico with the former lead singer from Journey, and many other places around the United States. I started giving Music lessons 20 years ago. I began giving private lessons and group lessons part time in the afternoons after I finish school in the mornings. Young students come to me asking me for lessons after a Gig or performance. I found very interesting and exiting to see the progress of the students with my own personal methods. It was more of an epiphany than a gradual choice which saw me take on the career of a musician. From a young age and onward, I always maintained an affinity and constant desire for music. In all this time nothing has ever proved so gratifying. No doubt I have various instructors to thank for this love, along with their respective academic institutions. From completing my undergraduate studies at Cal State Northridge, and finishing with graduate performance work at the wonderful University of Southern California, I more than owe it to the world of music education to give back however I can. As a teacher, I have learned the last 4 years that you can't expect a student to just know something right away. It takes time, and students have to take it at their own pace. Sometimes, you have to differentiate instruction often, until the student starts to understand something. So, I find it is important to be student-centered and focus on the goals they can achieve, little at a time. I also find it important to create positive feedback and turn constructive feedback into a more positive direction, so it does not seem as tough. Read More

I am a very well rounded musician. I have performed in venues ranging from Carnegie Hall to an appearance on ABC's All My Children. I have performed on every brass instrument with the exception of French Horn. I have taught as many as 40 Piano Students a week. I am fluent in Jazz Improvisation as well as more traditional Classical music. I am very proficient in Music Theory and believe it can be a huge benefit to all musicians. Read More
