I believe in teaching people to be true musicians and tap into their own creative spirits, not just to be technicians at the mercy of what's written for them. With that said, I take a balanced approached between learning traditional fundamentals and some of my own more philosophical approach, drawing on metaphors and analagous experiences to help frame this learning experience in ways the student can relate and understand. I call this The Art of Practice, which you'll be able to apply elsewhere in your life as well. Read More

I am motivated completely by teaching music and playing each and everyday. I want to share/pass down my talents with my students to make them more well rounded and find the passion and love that I have. Hard work and dedication are truly what separates teachers/performers but it all comes from the heart. I have competed in numerous competitions, all state orchestras, symphonies, and even graced the stage in New York at Carnigie Hall. Read More

The time of day, the weather, the time of year and many other factors affect how a student feels when they sit down to work with me. Read More

The way I approach teaching is very much a mix between tradition and improvisation. Every single student is different so I try to tap in to their personality and use that to help them. The work of learning the instrument is divided in 2 parts, the teachers part and the student. The teacher has to be clear, loving and practical to help the student progress. The students part is to consistently work at home to improve on the skills learned during the lesson. Read More
