Instruments: Piano, Violin, Cello, Viola, Fiddle, Music, Keyboard

For beginning strings students (even young children) to advanced students, I use the Suzuki method along with the accompanying sight reading book, I Can Read Music. Advanced students who have reached Suzuki book 6 and beyond are invited to seek out other repertoire as a supplement to their Suzuki studies. Students who are involved in an orchestra are also invited to bring excerpts of their music to their lessons so that I can help them to feel confident and prepared at playing tests and auditions. I am a versatile multi-instrumentalist who loves to share the joys of music with students of all backgrounds, ages, and levels of experience. Throughout the last 17 years, I earned a bachelor's and two graduate degrees in instrumental performance, first focusing on viola and piano, and later, cello. Read More

I believe in consistent and meaningful practice. That means that students are expected to practice at least 20 minutes a day. I always say that its better to practice 20 minutes for 5 days than 2 hours in one day. With my teaching students are also expected to come up with a goal for the end of the term and to see it through. Read More

Clifford G

Instruments: Piano, Guitar, Violin, Cello, Viola, Bass Guitar

My teaching experience began in the Chicago public and private schools in the 1970's. Wanting to have the ability to work with a student on a one on one basis, I went into business for myself as a private teacher. From 1976 to 2010 I taught music in a music store that I co-owned in the Chicago area. During that same period I worked with several universities with theMethods of Private Instruction in the area of Music Education. Read More

It is important that you select as many days and the widest window of start times for each day as possible. That will help us make a match with one of our teachers.
