I like to start out beginning string students with Essential Elements 2000 by the Hal Leonard company. They have a complete system which includes professionally recorded accompaniments which provide a model for the student to hear how to play with good intonation, tone and rhythm which are the most important basics. In addition I recommend other sheet music with piano accompaniment or books with CD accompaniments that can be performed for friends and family. Read More

My motto is my students create their own lesson. I formulate lesson plans off of the styles of music you are most interested in. If my student has a more "just for fun" attitude, the lesson will inevitably be a more light hearted feel. Each student is their own personality and I enjoy seeing how the music making unfolds with them in the process of learning. Each student gets their own unique weekly practice program based on their age and level. I am encouraging and patient teacher. I also see to it that my students get to their own goals by time. Hello! I'm a versatile musician with a wide variety of skills and experience! I'm a classically trained violinist and singer with a background in musical theater. For the past 10 years I've been performing all over the US, Canada and the UK in a variety of facets. I've played with symphony orchestras, performed off-Broadway, fiddled with country and bluegrass bands, played electric violin with rock bands at iconic venues in NYC and LA including The Bitter End, The Viper Room, the Whisky a Go Go and more. I have been playing viola for seven years and violin for nine years. I have worked with students that are in middle school up to high school. In high school, I played with the Kalamazoo Junior Symphony Orchestra in Michigan. Then I played with the Saint Mary's College String ensemble and the Notre Dame Symphony Orchestra, and went on tour with the NDSO, for a year. I graduated high school in 2017, went to Saint Mary's College at Notre Dame, IN, and I am now at Columbia Basin College in Pasco, WA. Read More
