I've been teaching since 2012, ranging from beginners all the way to highly advanced levels, with focus either on jazz or classical music. I love teaching the trombone! I think more kids should check it out, and adults should continue playing throughout their lives even if it isn't a profession. I am a graduate from the Lamont School of Music in DU, and received my bachelor's at Cal State Northridge, both degrees in performance. I've played in venues such as Carnegie Hall in New York and the Kennedy Center in DC. I am classically trained but also love to play jazz music. Read More

I am currently employed in East County as the choral and band director for an incredible middle school. Before that I was the director of music, bands, choirs, and performing arts in Harrison, New Jersey, right outside New York City. I have a Bachelor of Music and Theatre Arts from New Jersey City University where I also performed as a graduate student enrolled in Music Education with a concentration in French Horn Studies.My pedagogy in both instrumental and vocal studies has allowed me to bring a unique and diverse perspective in the both vocal and instrumental ensembles. My main teaching experience comes from working with multiple marching bands during their summer training camps. I worked as a percussion instructor and I taught marching techniques, playing techniques, drills, and rehearsed parts within the section. While in college I maintained a few beginning private students where my primary focus was establishing fundamental playing technique. I love motivating students with music that they enjoy. When someone enjoys what they're playing, they tend to be more engaged and practice more. Read More

The Arban book is available for free on PDF. For beginning students, I discuss long tones, sound, and simple scale studies. Once students grasp the fundamentals, I like to teach how they relates to the music they listen to. Through this, students can learn how theory and scales become music As we get advanced, I like to move in to scale studies, technical warm ups, and theory. When working on a recital performance, or simply learning the instrument, I like to concentrate on listening, developing a clean and full sound, breathing, and musicality. Read More
