I have been teaching music lessons since high school at the South Orange/Maplewood Adult School Summer Program back in 2009. I like to working with kids to encourage them to continue playing music and to build up a steady regimen of practice and self evaluation. I want to make learning music fun for my students and I want them to want to learn more and become better musicians. For beginning students, I focus on the very first fundamentals of playing trombone and music which consists of simple music theory and fundamental technique of playing the trombone. Once those fundamentals are introduced and the students shows progression, I will assign etudes and solo repertoire to help improve on musicality and technique. I tend to perform for students in lessons so they can receive a better idea of how to play a specific passage as well as just playing fun pieces to get them excited in lessons. Read More
