My teaching experience dates back approximately five years, and I've taught to students as young as 8 to as old as 20. With all of my students, I tailor my lesson plans to their specific needs. I like to find out why my students want to play guitar, what they want to play, and foster their continuing growth by teaching them what they want to learn. Lessons are light, upbeat and informal, with many opportunities for parent participation if desired (when applicable). Students are encouraged to experiment with their instruments and to pursue their favorite musical styles. Adult Students are eligible for Performance Field trips and other learning opportunities  at no extra cost. For children that are new to the instrument, my focus is to make guitar exciting! We will take a look as some basic chords and work on stripped down versions of Disney Songs (or other kid-friendly pop songs). At this stage, my goal is to get the student excited about learning and practicing guitar. For beginning adults, we will take a look at beginner chords, picking techniques, and basic songs to work on, as well as develop a practice routine. Read More

I began teaching when I was 16 years old at a studio in Dearborn Heights. I have since worked at several studios around the metro-Detroit area and since 2012 have been teaching out of my home and online. Since the inception of my teaching career I have worked to enhance my techniques and conveyance of information through various collegiate and workshop experiences. I have a degree from Wayne State University where I studied Jazz Guitar and Music technology.  I've played in bands ranging from Big Band Swing to Country to Punk Rock playing guitar, bass and piano/keyboards.  My studio is equipped with two amplifiers and the ability to record the student for playback.
