Music is my gift. I am blessed with a natural ability which I have dedicated my life to learn, cultivate and nurture. To share this through teaching is rewarding. I teach students of all ages and levels. We have two recitals per year, which are unique and fun because of our wide variety of instruments and our group songs. My teaching experience dates back to my college days, as I began teaching private lessons part time 8 years ago, and have been consistently teaching students in my home studio for the last 5 years. Encouraging regular practice on a consistent schedule is one of the key points I like to emphasize for younger students, as it tends to help the student progress and gain a passion for the instrument. I am a classical violinist teaching in Henderson and Boulder City. In 2008, I received my bachelor's in violin performance from the University of Denver in Denver, Colorado, and in 2010, I received my master's in violin performance from Colorado State University in Fort Collins, Colorado. Before moving to Nevada, I performed with various professional orchestras in Colorado and Wyoming, including the Fort Collins Symphony and the Cheyenne Symphony. For my beginning students, I will typically teach out of the Sound Innovations methods books and incorporate certain lessons from other method books as well. After a foundation has been established, I will introduce solo repertoire and begin to work toward recitals and local competitions. I introduce concepts from a variety of composers, styles, and periods, but I also want to encourage the child's love for music so I take into account what things they have heard and possibly want to learn.
