My teaching with experience is quite vast. I have taught music in both the classroom, as a band and choral director. I taught Music History, Theory, Global Music that is music from all Countries. I have taught and facilitated Music Classes with fellow Musicians throughout the State Of Connecticut which included Private Lessons and Ensemble playing. For me, a love of teaching was secondary, a natural consequence of first developing a love for music. I started drum lessons at 12 years old and studied jazz and swing drumming early on. I was a percussion major in college then spent a few years in Austin Texas traveling with country, rock and blues bands. Have played on over 20 records. My lessons are one on one and we both play side by side each at a drum set learning and having fun. My home studio is comfortable and provides a great atmosphere for music. Read More

Lessons are customized to the student's learning style and behavioral challenges. Any behavioral management is done with expectations set ahead of time, respectful reminders, and consistent consequences so that students get the most out of their time. Usually, I don't have too many issues with this as lessons are engaging through the use of technology, musical and pop-culture jokes and references, and opportunities to record audio and video for keeping a record of their progress and/or sharing with loved ones. Every student is different and has different dreams, needs and goals. So, my teaching style relies heavily on communicating with my students and their parents, if applicable. My first lesson is focused on setting goals for yourself and unearthing musical dreams and ideas. The following lessons are about hitting that goal as soon as possible. Once that goal is hit, I set another goal with you, and so on. I keep an eye on making sure you get the essentials (notes, finger placement, posture, good habits, etc.) and incorporate the things you are needing or missing into our goals. Read More
