I am a big fan of the Rubank elementary, intermediate, and advance methods. In addition I like incorporate sight reading into lessons due to being a common element in auditions. For high school students the I use Rubank books and supplement that with Rose etudes as they are often use as audition material in KY. Playing the saxophone has brought me so much personal joy and FUN and I want all of my students to have the same experience! I realize that not every student is the same and that some teaching methods may not work as well for some as they do for others, which is why I work hard to make every student's lesson unique and focus on how they can and want to progress. I began my teaching experience in 2016, when I began work as a band camp instructor during my student teaching semester in college. Since then, I have served as a high school band director for three years before stepping away to pursue other musical opportunities. Despite leaving my position as a band director, I still remain active as an educator.
