I am a big fan of the Rubank elementary, intermediate, and advance methods. In addition I like incorporate sight reading into lessons due to being a common element in auditions. For high school students the I use Rubank books and supplement that with Rose etudes as they are often use as audition material in KY. In high school I often volunteered with elementary and middle school students to work on band repetoire and fundamentals that would benefit them in their classes.
