I tailor lessons for each individual student based upon their age, ability, and cognition. I am a big believer in repetition, and reinforce fundamentals heavily. For all students, we will work greatly on building good habits right away. We will do exercises for breathing, embouchure, and hand position. From there, we will work on tone quality. As we begin learning notes and rhythms, we will use method books such as Essential Elements, in addition to easy songs for beginners to get comfortable practicing and eventually performing. While I am new to taking on private students of my own, I have had many opprtunities to teach groups and individuals in their studies. In high school I often volunteered with elementary and middle school students to work on band repetoire and fundamentals that would benefit them in their classes. For beginning students I select special lessons. I am careful to choose the appropriate music for each age. if there is a child, for me is very important the relationship with the parents, because they know a lot of goals from the child. For adults the communication is the fundamental thing, each have own aspirations. The topic for teach my students will be my passion.
