I have substitute taught in Madison County, KY and recently completed my enlistment in the United States Marine Corps. I served as a music in Camp Pendleton, CA. I tailor lessons for each individual student based upon their age, ability, and cognition. I am a big believer in repetition, and reinforce fundamentals heavily. For all students, we will work greatly on building good habits right away. We will do exercises for breathing, embouchure, and hand position. From there, we will work on tone quality. As we begin learning notes and rhythms, we will use method books such as Essential Elements, in addition to easy songs for beginners to get comfortable practicing and eventually performing. Playing the saxophone has brought me so much personal joy and FUN and I want all of my students to have the same experience!
